Songs of Sadness 7
History is filled with men decrying its decline,
yet rises, in fits and starts, over countless bodies.
Songs of Sadness 8
Only those with so much can expect life to be so good.
The mansion breeds depression as the mine never can.
Songs of Sadness 9
Our parents struggled mutely against the black,
too often hiding it, as if the barbarians might just go away.
We struggle, and they imagine put this in us.
