A horse is a horse
by Sean Garcia  /  poetry  /  17 Jan 2008

"A horse is a horse," my buddy said.

"Ride her when you need her,

 Hitch her up if you don't.

 She gets hungry, feed heró

 Otherwise she won't go.

 Racing stock, you breed her

 With a thoroughbred colt;

 Otherwise you make glue.

 That's all there is to it.

 A horse is just a horse," he said.

 Then he got up,

 And sauntered in his heavy boots

 Across the creaky sawdust floor

 Toward three blondes

 Standing up against the wall

 Drinking beer,

 Tossing their heads.
